This is a video of a split brain patient- this patient, Joe, had the connection between the right and left sides of the brain severed in an attempt to control his seizures. They only split the brain in extreme cases, and the patients are able to function almost completely normally. It’s only when doing tasks like these, that you can’t use both sides (both hands or both eyes) for, that you’ll notice what severing the connection between the hemispheres has done. I’ll explain more about split brain patients next week (I think this is utterly fascinating), but I thought I’d leave you with an interesting video on this lovely Friday!
